If you’ve been to a Disney theme park or resort, you know the real stars of the show are the Disney Cast Members.

Walt Disney always referred to employees as Cast Members because they are part of a “cast” putting on a show for the audience—known as guests. Cast Members are some of the most enthusiastic, kind, caring, and informative people you’ll ever meet!

For us, the magic starts the minute we pull up to the guard shack at a Disney resort and a Cast Member says, “Welcome Home.” It gets me right in the feels! That’s when you realize how special Disney really is—and it’s all thanks to the magic created by their Cast Members.

You may be wondering how to thank a Cast Member. The best way is by giving them a Cast Compliment. Disney recognizes Cast Members when they receive compliments, and it’s a truly magical way to make their day.

When you want to thank a particular Cast Member, take note of their name, location, and what they did. The moment doesn’t have to be huge—we often appreciate simple conversations and interactions. I also like to take a quick picture of them so I don’t forget details, but this isn’t required.

Here’s how to give a Cast Compliment:

1. Via the My Disney Experience App

• Open the My Disney Experience app and tap the three bars in the lower right-hand corner.
• Scroll down and select Cast Compliment.
• Fill out the form. Including the Cast Member’s name and hometown helps make sure they’re recognized.
• Hit Submit, and you’re done!

2. Give Them a Shout-Out on Twitter

• Tweet @WaltDisneyWorld or @Disneyland and include #CastCompliment.
• Include the Cast Member’s name, location, and details of the moment you’d like to recognize.
• I like to include a picture of them too—it’s fun if the Cast Member sees it. Often, @WaltDisneyWorld or @Disneyland will see it and respond!

3. Stop by Guest Relations

• Visit Guest Relations at any park or at your Disney resort to write a Cast Compliment in person.

4. Email Disney

• Send an email to [email protected] or click this link: Disney Email Form

5. Give Disney a Call

• Call 407-939-6104 and include the details of your compliment.

Over the years, we’ve had so many wonderful interactions and special moments with Disney Cast Members. We hope they realize what a meaningful part they play in creating core memories for families like ours!

Pat from the Animal Kingdom Lodge gave Audrey a pirate-princess makeover. Years later, Audrey still remembered that interaction and even wrote a paper about Pat!

Cast Member Chris made Audrey’s birthday extra special by leading her to the front row of Slinky Dog Dash!

Bri at Saratoga Springs was so much fun leading their Trivia Night. It’s one of our fondest memories!

A Cast Member once asked Audrey for her autograph at the Halloween Party because she was dressed as Bing Bong.

Carlos at the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction was incredible as a First Order officer!

Steve at the Beach Club always made a point to speak to Audrey every time she walked in!

Cast Member Ivy was all smiles and a blast to chat with at Magic Kingdom while we waited for it to open!

Cast Member Oscar is always smiling and friendly at Magic Kingdom!
