Let’s talk about one of our absolute favorite counter-service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World—Satu’li Canteen, located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Animal Kingdom has some of the best dining options of any park, with places like Tiffins and Yak & Yeti. But there’s one quick service spot we keep going back to over and over—Satu’li Canteen.

You’ll find it in Pandora – The World of Avatar, toward the back of the area near Flight of Passage.

Disney describes it as:
“Long ago an RDA mess hall, now a peaceful dining facility adorned with Na’vi art and cultural items. Owned and operated by Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE), Satu’li Canteen supplies travelers all the comforts of home courtesy of a unique, fast-casual menu crafted from Pandora’s natural abundance. Featuring international-inspired cuisine, vegetarian options, and specialty libations, it’s the perfect place to refuel as you venture through the Valley of Mo’ara.”

I’d describe it a little differently: a cool, eclectic restaurant with plenty of indoor seating, lots of shaded outdoor seating, and refillable drink stations. And honestly, it has the best food of any quick service in Walt Disney World.

Satu’li Canteen offers Mobile Ordering through the My Disney Experience app, which makes it extra convenient. They’re best known for their create-your-own bowls—you choose your protein, base, and sauce, and customize it to your liking.

The kids’ menu is great too, with options like a hot dog, quesadilla, kids’ bowls, and a cheeseburger pod. They also serve a plant-based tofu bowl and have an extensive allergy menu. For drinks, you’ll find non-alcoholic specialty beverages along with beer and wine.

We think Satu’li Canteen is one of the best values in the parks.

So, without further ado, let’s get to the food!

First up: Cheeseburger Steamed Pods (Bao Buns).
These taste surprisingly like a McDonald’s cheeseburger, in the best way. The adult portion comes with two pods plus a side of vegetable chips and slaw. Don’t be fooled by the chips—they’re not exactly “healthy,” but they are delicious, especially if you dip them in the Creamy Herb Dressing (just ask for it when you pick up your food).

The kids’ meal comes with one cheeseburger pod, a side, and a drink.

Both Edward and Audrey absolutely love the cheeseburger pods!

Next up: Kids’ Meals
We tried the “Teylu” All-Beef Hot Dog, which comes wrapped in dough and served with vegetable chips, and the Slow-Roasted Sliced Grilled Beef Bowl over salad (current options are the chicken or tofu bowl). These are Ed’s favorite things to order as his meal. Both options come with a drink.

Since they’re smaller portions, it’s easy to try a couple of different items without feeling too full.

Slow-Roasted Sliced Grilled Beef Bowl
One of my personal favorites is the Slow-Roasted Sliced Grilled Beef Bowl over sweet potato hash, topped with Creamy Herb Dressing. This dressing is my absolute favorite! The bowl also comes with a small serving of vegetable slaw and Boba balls. Of course, you can always customize it to your liking.

Chili-Garlic Shrimp Bowl
My new favorite is the Chili-Garlic Shrimp Bowl over hearty salad with—no surprise—Creamy Herb Dressing. The shrimp has a light kick of spice, just enough to keep it interesting without being overwhelming.

Chili-Garlic Shrimp Bowl (Noodles)
Another favorite is the Chili-Garlic Shrimp Bowl served over noodles with Creamy Herb Dressing.

Breakfast at Satu’li Canteen
Satu’li Canteen now serves breakfast as well. One option is the Tropical Pandoran Forest Fruits, served with fresh yogurt, muesli, and agave. It’s absolutely delicious!

Other options include French toast, frittata, Slow-Roasted Pork Shoulder Potato Hash, and more.

Desserts at Satu’li Canteen
They offer two very unique desserts: the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse and the Metkayina Mousse-a flourless chocolate cake with chocolate mousse. Most people seem to favor the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse, but we preferred the Metkayina Mousse.

We highly recommend visiting Satu’li Canteen on your next trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is no ordinary theme park food!
