Dining Review: Space 220 Restaurant in EPCOT

If you’re looking for a truly unique dining experience at EPCOT, look no further than Space 220!

When dining at Space 220, you’ll board a “special space elevator” that ascends to the stars, with Earth shrinking below you as you travel 220 miles up. Once inside, you’ll see huge windows with out-of-this-world views of spacecraft, astronauts, a furry friend, and a few surprises I won’t spoil here. The restaurant is located next to Mission: Space—as you approach, Space 220 will be on your right.

      Reservations & Menus

      • Table Service: Reservation required (available 60 days in advance)
      • Lounge: Reservation required (also available 60 days in advance)

I highly recommend the Lounge over table service. The Lounge seating is in the same main dining area, just slightly farther back from the screens. You may be seated at the bar, and those seats face away from the windows, so I’d suggest requesting not to sit at the bar if possible. If you do end up there, you can still turn around to enjoy the atmosphere and walk through the restaurant to see everything. Walk-ups for the Lounge may be available, but it does get very busy. In the Lounge, you can order either from the prix fixe menu or à la carte, which can save you money.

      Pricing

      • Lunch Prix Fixe: $55 adults / $29 children (ages 3–9)
Includes a Lift-Off (appetizer) and Star Course (entrée)
      • Dinner Prix Fixe: $79 adults / $35 children (ages 3–9)
Includes three courses: Lift-Off, Star Course, and Super Nova Sweet (dessert)
      • Lounge Menu: À la carte

They also offer a great selection of unique cocktails, plus beer and wine.

      The Experience

We checked in at the desk outside (since it’s not Disney-owned, you can’t check in through the MDE app). After a short wait, we were called and entered the lobby, which immediately impressed us with its theming. Another Cast Member handed us our boarding passes for the “Stellarvator.”

There are two elevators displayed, showing Earth as the lowest level and the Centauri Space Station at the top. We boarded the right elevator and had plenty of space for our group to spread out. You can see the spacecraft lifting off and traveling 220 miles up, both below and above you. It felt incredibly real. I sometimes deal with motion sickness, but had zero issues with the elevator ride.

Once the doors opened, we entered the waiting area before being seated. The theming here is unreal, with so much to look at and photograph. We were seated along the edge of the upper level. While some people prefer the front windows, I loved the elevated vantage point—it gave us a great view of the entire restaurant. The windows are massive, with panoramic space views, and there are surprises floating by constantly, so keep looking—they change often. It’s honestly hard to believe you’re still in EPCOT.

      Food & Drinks

Our server walked us through the menu and shared some favorites. Kids’ drinks and non-alcoholic drinks come with Space 220 trading cards, which were a huge hit.

For our Lift-Offs (appetizers), I went with the Luna Antipasti (burrata, olives, tomato, almonds), which was delicious. Others in our family had the Starry Calamari (good but not amazing, though the sauces are great), Blue Moon Cauliflower (very good), and the Centauri Caesar Salad. All were very tasty.

      For our Star Courses:

Three of us ordered the Interstellar Steak & Frites, and one ordered the Galactic Miso Salmon. All were very delicious. We were surprised how tender and flavorful the steak was.

Dessert isn’t included with the lunch prix fixe, but you can order one à la carte. Our favorite, the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake, is no longer on the menu, so we opted to skip dessert.

      Final Thoughts

We were never rushed and spent plenty of time enjoying the atmosphere and taking photos. When we were ready to leave, we boarded the elevator again and returned to Earth.

Overall, we were very happy with both the meal and the experience. It is expensive, but lunch pricing helps, and the Lounge is a great option if you want more flexibility. It’s also very family-friendly, with plenty for kids to look at and a solid kids’ menu.

If you’re looking for a truly unique dining experience, Space 220 is a must-do at least once. With so many great dining options in EPCOT, we don’t visit often, but we’ve been very pleased with every visit so far.
