ALL THE WALT DISNEY WORLD CHANGES – KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!

Walt Disney World has made many changes since reopening in July 2020. Here’s what you need to know:

Disney World Updated Basics:

• Park Pass Reservations
  • No longer required for date-based tickets.
  • Still required for Annual Passholders and non-date-based tickets.
• Lightning Lane replaced FastPass+
  • Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Premier Pass have replaced Genie+ and FastPass+.

• Early Entry & Evening Hours replaced Extra Magic Hours
  • Early Theme Park Entry: Disney Resort guests (and select others) can enter 30 minutes early every morning at every park.

  • Extended Evening Hours: Guests at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villas, Swan/Dolphin/Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green get 2 extra hours after park closing at select parks on select nights.

• Advance Dining Reservations
  • Can be made 60 days in advance.
  • Disney Resort guests can book up to 10 days of reservations at once (covering their entire stay).
  • Available online or via the My Disney Experience app.
• MagicBand & MagicBand+
  • MagicBand+ (launched in 2022) lights up and interacts during shows and in the parks.
  • Both can be purchased at the parks, resorts, or on shopDisney.
  • MagicBand+ works at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line.
• Housekeeping (Mousekeeping)
  • Rooms may not be serviced daily—sometimes every other day.
  • Trash is emptied daily with required safety checks (note: staff must enter once daily).
  • Extra linens, towels, toiletries, or coffee are available upon request.
• Bounceback Offer
  • Extended through 2026.
  • Guests staying at a Disney Resort (or within 7 days of checkout) can book a discounted room for a future visit.
• Complimentary Water Park Access
  • Disney Resort guests receive free admission to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach on their check-in day for many dates in 2025/2026.
• Virtual Queues
  • None currently in use at Walt Disney World.

TriceraTop Spin, The Boneyard, Dino-Bite Snacks, DINOSAUR – Being rethemed to an Indiana Jones attraction (not a copy of Disneyland’s version), Restaurantosaurus

New/Open Attractions:

Zootopia: Better Together – Replaced It’s Tough to Be a Bug, opened November 7, 2025
